The “Fire” piece of my class aims at connecting and creating a stronger, more flexible, and supple body that is less prone to injury and illness. Beginners to advanced (yogies, runners, weightlifters, couch sitters, weekend warriors, desk jockeys all welcomed). If you are curious enough, no matter your current lifestyle, you can gradually become the best-equipped person to understand the incomparable mechanics of your own body and to move in ways to best suit your body’s uniqueness.
The “Chill” portion of the class allows you to still your mind so that you can look at things in multiple perspectives. This quieting of your mind provides you with clarity about the options and choices available to you in demanding and difficult situations.
I use and prescribe meditation as medicine because most illnesses today are diet and lifestyle-driven, with burnout trending as a major complaint in my clients. Burnout is the result of living in flight or fight mode without the balancing portion of our innate “rest, digest, and heal” mode. As a result, our modern bodies are unable to flourish and we suffer from sleep disorders, digestive problems, hormone imbalances and all the downstream problems that come from living an unnourished life and an incessant pushing to keep going.
I don’t need to review multiply scientific evidence on the benefits of mediation as medicine as I have personally experienced it and I get to witness daily, how a regular meditation practice can restore balance, bring energy, healing and joy back to our everyday lives.
